Moving AGAIN!!!!

Well back in June of 2010 we moved back to Oklahoma and in with my in-laws.  We did so to help them and us at the same time. It's been a year of hard times getting a long but we made it through and are now able to move out into our own place again.  We stumbled upon a 3 bedroom-1bathroom house right next door to our best friends. Now I know some might say moving next door to your best friends would cause issues eventually, I don't think it will at all, we both know each other well enough I think that we know what will irk the other and such.  Now my goal is to sell enough cards(husband has a big magic the gathering collection) and various other things I know I can do without.

Couponing comes into play yet again, there have been some awesome coupons lately, most of them expiring 7/31 so I made a last chance trip to try and use some more of them.

It breaks down like this:
Crayola Colored Pencils-$1.30
Roseart 24pk crayons-$0.45
3-Coloring Books-$1.00=$3.00
3-Boxes of candy-$1.00=$3.00
4-Cascade 3pk $0.97=$2.91-3-$1/1coupons=Free+$0.09overage
5pk Take N Toss cups-$2.96
Colored Goldfish-$0.98
2-Old Spice BW $0.97=$1.94-$1/2coupon=$0.94/2
2-Bengay $4.98=$9.96-2-$5.00/1printable coupon=Free+$0.04overage
Tortilla chips-$1.50
10-Vitamin Water $0.88(Price-matched Target)=$8.80
Pantene Shampoo-$2.84-Facebook Free coupon=FREE
Herbal Essence Shampoo $3.78-Facebook Free coupon=FREE
12pk Water $2.64
Newspaper $2.00

Total after coupons $31.87($4.52in taxes)

I felt pretty good walking outta there with all that for that much. I have been able to get about 12 packs of those 3pk Cascades and the awesome thing is this week there is another coupon I use on the same thing! The cool thing is the house we are renting has a dishwasher so these are going to save us a bit of money!

Now the coloring books were an awesome deal for me as well since the kids love to color and since school stuff is on sale, we all know how easy a 3 year old breaks a crayon. At $0.45 a box I might have to pick a few more to stash back ya know.

A Day in the Life

As you can tell if you frequent the blog that couponing seems to have taken over my life, since the name of my blog is The Adventures of a Mother but every post seems to be about couponing or saving money.  This is because this is what my life is filled with everyday.  Everyday I come in contact with coupons or a way to save money. I am going to try to gear the blog to be more open but there will still be the weekly store match-up that I do but will try and add more family saving info.

Just today I was able to get a YEAR subscription to Cosmopolitan magazine via Recyclebank, which is a free to join website that teaches you how to be more green in your home and you earn points you can redeem for other items.  So far I've been able to get coupons for Coke products, which are rare where I live.

Now for the couponing, I order whole inserts via Insert Insanity because my town doesn't get Redplum at all and even then our coupons are sometimes crappy as compared to the ones I get from them. I am a bit behind and now have 2 weeks of coupons to cut, but no worries as I know I'll get them done.

As some of you may have known my birthday was July 14th, for my birthday I went to see the LAST Harry Potter movie, a nerd yes I know. My husband watched the kids so I could even go to the midnight release and wait in a long line just to see it. It was well worth it of course.  My friend also paid for a ticket for us to see New Kids on the Block & Backstreet Boys!  Now our seats were so high up I literally began having a panic attack when the lights went out and I saw where we were suppose to sit, luckily we were able to sneak and find seats on the ground level (don't worry they stayed empty the whole concert so we didn't steal seats).  My camera took the crappy pictures but I can't wait to see my friends, her camera is an awesome one and I know she got good ones. The most exciting part is, Nick and Brian from Backstreet Boys walked right down our isle literally 2 seats away from us.

The very same weekend my friend has her daughter's 1st birthday party!
This is the birthday girl, is she not ADORABLE! Love this little girl, always makes me smile when I'm around her.  Now my friends grandpa had an amazing camera that made me so jealous but took amazing pictures.

This is my little mini-me, I saw this and instantly had a little freak out at how cute it was!
This is the girls swimming, they are best friends to the max and cry and scream when separated and constantly ask us the next time they will see each other, it's so cute though.

Now since my son likes to get up sooo early now he gets to watch his Blues Blues on Netflix by himself, now guys this is the only time he does what you see in the video which he first did yesterday but I was too slow to get to the camera to record it. He's also just starting to really put words together and make sentences which is fun to decode and cute altogether. **Click on the word video to see the video since it's not showing up when I try to add it video the add video from youtube**

I've also been working on bows and such for my "business" , I say business like that since I haven't taken off with it yet but here's a picture of the felt bow centers or snap clip felts I ordered that I can't wait to use!

So on today's agenda we have laundry, cleaning possibly, tending to the kids as always, coupon cutting, and crafting once the kids go to bed.

My Birthday!

24 years ago at around 9:34am I was born! Now for my birthday I don't think I even asked or told anyone I wanted anything but my mother in law remembered I had asked for re-usable bags for Mother's Day so she gave me $30 and told me to go for it basically.  She watched the kids while I went to Wal-mart and got the stuff below:
I bought 2 large bags and 4 Wal-mart ones for a total of $11.  Those patterned ones are HUGE as well so well worth $3 each to me.  Overall I only spent $36.49 on what you see here. The Lysol Wipes were $2.48 each and I saw this BOGO packs on an endcap for the same price so I got 2 of those and used my coupon.

My husband watched the kids this morning so I could take a much needed bath and relax, it worked so well I was sleepy by the time I got out.  Tons and tons of people on facebook wished me a happy birthday, some I never talk to so yay for the glory that is social networking.

My sister in law has paid for my ticket to see Harry Potter at tonight's midnight release. Then my close friend has paid for a ticket to see New Kids on the Block & Backstreet Boys on Sunday...can you say EXCITED! So happy.

Awesome Vitamin Coupon

Betty Crocker usually has some awesome coupons on it every month, this is a prime example which I have never seen on the site. It's really worth signing up for.
